Blast from the past.

Jackson was being a little monster today so I thought I would try something new to entertain him. So I suggeted we build a fort. He went for it and was super excited, his first fort. Well I know it doesn't look that great I haven't made one in a very long time so I am a little rusty. He loved it and when I left the room he started adding Hudson's little blankets, it was really cute. The euphoria didn't last long though 15minutes later he had already wrecked it. Boys!

What is it that is so wonderful to a kid about a fort made out of blankets and chairs? My kids had a babysiter that was their absolute FAVORITE that would make them the hugest forts (all over the living room). They were pretty extensive involving: clothes pins, rubberbands, chairs, a ladder (once), the couches, TONS of blankets, a rug, and much more. They loved it so much that I never discouraged the building of forts with the babysitter, but I sure hated putting it all away when all was said and done.

Isn't that the worst part. I always loved them when I was growing up so the more the merrier.

That is so rad. I still remember all the good memories with the forts. Just wait until Jackson can fold a blanket himself so you don't have to clean it up. Ya right that will be the day..

That's so cute Crystal! Oh the memories. I'm sure we have made a fort or two together back in the day of the Lockwood cir. days.

You are a great mom to be so creative with your kids.

I forgot about those! I should try that with my girls. They'd get a huge kick out of it. BUT...I do remember hating having to fold & put blankets away afterwards, so I'd just grab a pillow and a blanket and sleep under there so I could play in the fort all day the next day too. Drove my mom nuts.

Don't you love your bubmo or bumbi whatever, I have one and it is the greatest invention ever. Also, Maggie's favorite thing is to build "houses" as she calls forts, I totally suck at them but she doesn't mind!

That's cute Crystal. My oldest Carson loves to gather all the pillows from the whole house and put them all on the floor in one room. Then they can play on them for hours. Another wierd one we did when Sarah was here visiting the other day was the kids found a twin mattress and we slid on it down the stairs. It was pretty fun. Nobody tell Preston I'm not sure he would approve :)

I love the forts. Haven and I make them daily. It is her favorite thing to do but she love to make them play, tear it down and start again! Over and over and over and over. We have a great time. I think that it brings out a creative side in a child.
